INSPIRATION FOR
THE DREAM CATCHER SERIES
After spending a few magical months in Sedona, AZ, I was driving north to SunValley Idaho in May 2010. On my way out of Sedona, I purchased a dream catcher from Native Americans at a roadside stand, and hung it from my rearview mirror, along with a large topaz crystal that was already hanging there.
As I drove, the crystal and dream catcher were in constant motion. The crystal reflected rainbow light all around my car, and seemed to dance with the dream catcher. On the gorgeous drive north, spring was coming alive in the desert, the salt lakes, and the mountains. I was fascinated with viewing the scenery through the webbing of the dream catcher.
I could hardly wait to settle in to a new space and begin painting! These dream catchers all have many layers and reflect that movement and joy that I felt as I drove, my focus primarily on the spiralling effect from the dream catcher's center.
