INSPIRATION FOR
DRIZZLE & SPLASH SERIES
From the time I was a small child, I can remember how much I enjoyed watching different colors blend and move when mixed together.
When clearing the table I would mix juices, milk-whatever was left over and just watch the colors shift according to weight. This is also why I enjoy ordering an ice coffee and pouring cream on the top, then watching it begin to sink into the dark coffee. Making a pousse-café
by layering liqueurs of varous colors and weights in a tall narrow shot glass is another way to see how colors can blend or if poured carefully---and a fun party game.
"Drizzle & Splash" is a purposeful pouring or brushing on of acrylic paints and then working with them while wet. After the initial application of paint, be it brushed, poured or dripped on the canvas, I may not touch the canvas again, but work with the colors by holding the canvas at different angles.
I find this work exciting and soothing at the same time.
